The golf course celebrates its anniversary in June.
Designed by architect Cabell Robinson and inaugurated in 1993, the Palheiro Golf is starting the celebrations for its 25th birthday in June. The course is part of the Palheiro Nature Estate, with more than 150 hectares of green areas and about 25 km of natural trails.
Rodrigo Ulrich, the firm’s general manager, holds the growth of the number of laps to be "truly fantastic". A large part of the 18-hole course overlooks the sea and Funchal's amphitheater.
In honour of this notable date, there is to be 25% discount on all rental material from June onwards. Celebrations hit their highlight on November 10th with the ‘Palheiro 25th Anniversary Open’ tournament. Those who wish to participate will have the opportunity to choose from a selection of special packages offered at select hotels. Also on the day of the competition, 25 prizes will be offered to the participants, as well as other offers.
The Palheiro Nature Estate further comprises units and infrastructures that include the Casa Velha do Palheiro, owned by the Relais & Châteaux chain; the Palheiro Village area, the Palheiro Spa and the much extolled award-winning Palheiro Gardens.
