Kampo promotes 12 chefs, 12 months

The experiences shared in the restaurant's kitchen happen throughout the year

Kampo restaurant promotes the local gastronomy and economy throughout the year, with a project called "12 chefs, 12 months". As the name suggests, the host chef, Júlio Rodrigues, receives every month a chef to cook using Madeira products.

Every month a special menu will be created, resulting from the experience the chefs have acquired with local producers. The menus promise to follow the seasonality, privileging seasonal products. All the guests will be challenged to work with local products from Madeira.

Júlio Pereira highlights the "pleasure" in "receiving guests who share my passion for gastronomy". The chef considers that these are "experiences and knowledge sharing that mark us, and that allows us to show those who visit us the richness of the territory and landscape, the products, producers, people, and their roots and traditions, which constitute the essence of Madeira, and should be protected, valued and perpetuated."

The premiere was in January. February's event is scheduled for the 25th, with chef Rodrigo Castelo, from Ó Balcão restaurant, in Santarém, with a Bib Gourmand. In March, also on the 25th, it will be Diogo Rocha, chef from Mesa de Lemos, in Viseu, with a Michelin star.

These menus can be enjoyed at lunch at a cost of 55 euros per person, including drinks.
