MSC Cruises, the world’s largest private cruise liner, and FINCANTIERI, and Italian shipyard specialised in constructing large cruise ships celebrated the MSC Seaside’s float out on the past November 26th.

This ship, with a capacity for 5.179 passengers, is ‘one of the two most innovative mega cruise ships that MSC Cruises will have delivered between June and December 2017’. The celebratory ceremony was held at the Monfalcone shipyard, in Triste, where the ship is being built.

This new acquisition marks the beginning of a new generation of ships made with a revolutionary architecture and state of the art technology. The inauguration is set to take place in the United States of America with the ship departing from Miami harbour in December 2017 and travelling all year round the Caribbean.

The new cruise ship, inspired in ‘an elegant beach resort’ brings travellers closer to the sea with its special design features such as the 360º promenade at the level of the sea, the panoramic glass lifts, a 30 meter long bridge at the top of the deck and 765 cabins placed on the outside of the ship.

For MSC Cruises’ Executive Chairman, Pierfrancesco Vago, ‘this is yet another magnificent landmark in our ambitious expansion plans since we are now entering the final construction stage of that which is to be the second of our 11 ship new generation. The MSC Seaside was specially conceived to offer our travellers a unique on-board experience in the warmest regions and is characterised by one of the largest amounts of outdoors areas in the industry so that travellers can enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities such as al fresco meals, strolling down the promenade or simply being delighted with the magnificent views of the sea in the privacy of one of the many cabins with private balconies available.

As for the MSC Yacht Club, an exclusive luxury paradise, it allows for a private balcony on the front deck of the ship, private lounge and restaurants, a concept that privileges a ship within a ship. Now in five decks, it allows for two apartment suites with a living room and a balcony for meals and jaccuzzi.

In terms of gastronomy, the ship includes Mediterranean and international cuisine varieties served in 11 different locations including five specialty restaurants. Among them is the Pan-Asian, coming out of a partnership with the internationally renowned chef Roy Yamaguchi.
